Our tutors are highly qualified and experienced instructors with outstanding academic and professional backgrounds. They have a strong passion for teaching and genuine care for students which enables successful teaching outcomes in their respective subjects.

Mr. Yeon
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, B.A. in Mathematics. He brings a passion for mathematics to the JLab math program. His desire to share this passion to his students strongly impacts his teaching. It allows for him to actively build rapport with his students and motivate them to become skilled problem-solvers.

Ms. Sue
Sue graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.A. in Global Studies and is currently a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Law. She has previous experience working with elementary and middle school students, tutoring in math, reading, and English. Her goal is to inspire students to want to learn more and be passionate about their academic interests.

Ms. Yerin
She is an aspiring medical professional studying Pharmacy at Rutgers University, and has an extended background of study in both STEM and the Liberal Arts. She longs to help students across the world communicate their unique ideas through the common ground of English. Throughout high school, she has privately tutored ESL, math, science, and violin to students within her region and has witnessed tremendous growth within them, many of whom were beginners when first starting with her.

Ms. Lynn
She is a recent Boston University graduate with a B.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She has worked with students of various ages as a tutor while also gathering clinical experience as an aspiring pediatric speech-language pathologist. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Northwestern University, where she is a first-year student in their Speech, Language, and Learning program. She hopes to share her love for reading and writing with her students by creating an engaging learning environment where they can develop their creative voices and gain confidence in expressing themselves through words.

Ms. Christine
Christine graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. As a college student, she not only tutored students in reading and writing, but also volunteered at a local non-profit, educating refugee children in mathematics. After graduation, while working as a medical assistant, she tutored in organic chemistry and biology, where she found a passion for teaching upper-level science courses. Her goal in tutoring students is to empower them never to underestimate their potential, help them discover the joy of learning, and engage their critical thinking skills and creativity.

Mr. Nick
Nick graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry, minoring in human development on the premedical track. He loves teaching English writing and chemistry, and has experience teaching SAT/ACT from working as a teacher's assistant for prep institutions, as well as for middle schools in Ithaca, NY. He loves to write personal memoirs as a hobby, and hopes to share these passions for learning with all of his students!

Ms. Louise
Louise is a student at Harvard University double majoring in Sociology and English with a minor in Economics. Louise brings almost three years of extensive experience in tutoring, mentoring, and college counseling. She works with students from diverse backgrounds—ranging from Los Angeles, California to Lyon, France—helping them navigate all aspects of the college admissions process with confidence and authenticity. Her extracurricular pursuits focus on consulting and strategy work for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and the legal sector. She spends her free time reading and writing poetry, drinking matcha with friends, learning new languages, and going on walks along the Charles River.

Mr. Gianni
Gianni is a double majoring student at Rice University studying Economics and Sports Management. He enjoys working with younger children and has tutored students in math, English, and test prep for several years. Through tutoring, he aims to foster a deep understanding of each subject while also inspiring a lifelong love of learning. During his free time, he likes to play or watch sports, listen to music, and bake sweets. 

TA Joonsung (Intern)
Joonsung is a senior at Korea International School with a strong passion for mathematics and statistics. He is a member of his school’s competitive math team and has completed multiple advanced courses and summer programs in college-level mathematics, number theory, and statistical analysis. Aspiring to pursue data science or related fields in college, he channels his enthusiasm for numbers into both his academic work and mentoring younger students in STEM.

TA Jiwon (Intern)
Jiwon, a junior at Korea International School, loves writing and teaching English. She has served as an officer in her school’s Creative Writing Club, founded an English program for elementary students (JK Writing), and led a middle school writing club. Her passion for reading and writing drives her work and helps her connect with students.
